Girl Scouts is the world's preeminent organization dedicated solely to girls. In a nurturing environment, girls build character and skills for success in the real world. In partnership with committed adults, girls develop qualities like social conscience and conviction about their potential and self-worth. Through Girl Scouting, girls discover the fun, friendship and power of girls together. They grow courageous and strong through the many enriching experiences we provide.

Founded in 1912 by Juliette Gordon Low, Girl Scouts' membership has grown from 18 members in Savannah, Georgia, to nearly four million members throughout the United States, including Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands, and in more than 80 countries through USA Girl Scouts Overseas. Monmouth County has 12,200 registered Girl Scouts and Manalapan/Englishtown has close to 500 girls registered as Girl Scouts. The Purpose of Girl Scouting is to inspire girls with the highest ideals of character, conduct, patriotism, and service that they may become happy and resourceful citizens.
